The Fatal Five Advanced Course is designed for clinicians. It covers each Fatal Five item with greater depth with an eye to precise signs and symptoms and greater stress on health and safety repercussions. It stresses how to train staff on each item and how to help staff act as a set of eyes and ears so that health issues can be reported clearly as they happen.

Approximate Length of Course: 6 hours 30 minutes

  • How to spot the fatal five & how to report them
  • Real-world scenarios and how to handle them.
  • Over 200 interactive questions to ensure the learner’s knowledge.

  1. Aspiration – 55 minutes
  2. Bowel Obstruction – 43 minutes
  3. Dehydration – 55 minutes
  4. GERD – 46 minutes
  5. Sepsis – 49 minutes
  6. Seizures – 50 minutes
  7. When to Act – 1 hour 8 minutes
How it works:
  1. Once you purchase the course, you will receive an email within 1 business day with your username and password.
  2. You will have 6 months to successfully complete the eLearn course.
  3. Once you have completed the course, you will receive your Certificate of Completion or CEU Certificate.
  4. Within the 6 months, feel free to review the material as much as you like!
Continuing Education Information:
  • 7.75 Continuing Education Units for nurses from an ANCC accredited provider.

Certificates are automatically delivered at the end of the course upon successful completion of the post-test and survey.
